Ever wonder how a Broadway play gets turned into a movie? This class will look at the process that takes a play from page to stage to screen. We’ll read one (or maybe two) play scripts as they were performed on the Broadway stage, discuss the plays as theatrical works, then view the film adaptation. Next, the class will discuss, debate and argue about what worked and what didn’t work — and why! The text needed for this class is The Little Foxes by Lillian Hellman, published by Dramatists Play Service.
